    VISAKHAPATNAM: More than a century-old King George Hospital (KGH) will get the much-needed facelift with a multi-storied building coming up to cater to the health needs of lakhs of patients from north coastal Andhra and neighboring Orissa. The proposed five-storied building and ultra modern equipment in one lakh sft area will also house a separate oncology block for cancer patients. The building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 50 crore. Chairman of the parliamentary standing committee T Subbarami Reddy said the works would commence in April . About 1,500-2,000 patients from north coastal districts and Orissa visit KGH every day, while another 2,000 in-patients avail themselves of treatment. The Rajya Sabha MP gave Rs 2.5 crore from MPLADS funds to construct a dormitory to shelter more than 200 people.
